La vicinanza di [[Sriluur]] allo [[Spazio Hutt]] significava che molti Weequay fossero impiegati o ridotti in schiavitù dai signori del crimine [[Hutt]] come guardie del corpo o agenti. Questo tipo di carriera ai margini della società ha fatto in modo che gli Weequay si sparpagliassero in tutta la [[galassia]]. Gli Weequay espatriati erano facilmente riconoscibili dalla loro cresta. La tradizione dice che un Weequay faceva crescere una treccia per ogni anno Sriluuriano passato lontano dal pianeta. Se vi faceva ritorno, un Weequay tagliava le trecce.
