La vasca di bacta era un grande contenitore cilindrico specializzato e riempito con il potente agente guaritore noto con il nome di bacta, creato dai Vratix.

Storia

Una vasca di bacta.
Una vasca di bacta ed una fornitura di bacta erano piuttosto costose, solo la vasca costava normalmente 100.000 crediti nel periodo fra il 32 BBY e l'8 ABY, per questo motivo si potevano trovare solamente presso gli ospedali, nelle navi capitali e nelle principali basi militari. Lo spostamento delle vasche risultava difficoltoso dato che il suo peso si aggirava intorno al 500 chilogrammi.

Un paziente doveva essere completamente sommerso nel bacta per permettere all'agente batterico di fare il suo lavoro, così indossavano maschere respiratorie. Alcune razze, come i Rodiani, avevano delle complicazioni col bacta a causa del loro metabolismo, ed a volte erano necessarie immersioni prolungate.

Sulle ferite localizzate venivano usate vasche di bacta miniaturizzate.
